Earthquake/Tsunami Aid Charity Auction

I'm sure most of you have heard about the earthquake and subsequent tsunamis that have impacted so many countries, Japan taking the brunt of the damage. Our hearts go out to all of those who have been affected by this disaster. There have been many people saying things like "pray for Japan." While it is always important to feel sympathy and hope in situations such as this, taking action will always be the most important step that a person can take.

Therefore, we would like to set up a charity auction to benefit some of the organizations that are being and will be dispatched to help with the disaster, including the American Red Cross, Direct Relief International, Doctors Without Borders, Global Giving, and more (you can find a list of the many disaster relief efforts on this page: http://www1.networkforgood.org/help-survivors-pacific-quake-tsunami). Feel free to donate to any of those organizations through that page if you wish! Please keep in mind that these organizations will be helping with the disaster worldwide, so they need all the help they can get.

For those who do not have the funds to donate, please consider donating your time or efforts for this cause. Ideally, we would like to create a dutch auction (in order to get as much money as possible), where there will be anywhere from 3 to 5 (or more!) winners. The highest bidder in the auction will obviously receive the biggest "thank you" prize, while the second, third, and so on will receive slightly smaller gifts. If you are an artist, please consider signing up to donate a piece of art. If you make fursuit items, please consider donating a premade or custom item. Every little bit will help, and the more people we can get to participate, the bigger this auction will be.

Please comment here if you would like to be added to the list of artists willing to donate. We will need the following information from you:

1) Name
2) Web address where your work can be found
3) What you would like to donate
4) "Base" price of what the item would normally cost, were it a commission (this is to assess where the item should be placed in the dutch auction, since the highest bidder will receive the gift with the highest value)
5) Your contact email

We will be organizing this auction over the next few days, and hope to have a page set up for this relatively quickly. Please spread the word to anyone who you think may be interested in participating.
